Steve has been a solicitor since 1981 and has specialised in injury claims and medical matters since moving to Bristol in 1990. He joined Metcalfes in 2000 transferring the personal injury and clinical negligence practices of his previous firm. His extensive experience includes cases of:
- Serious and catastrophic injury including to the head and brain, the spine, and involving paralysis
- Multi-party litigation, group actions against pharmaceutical companies and G.Ps arising out of mis-prescription and defective products
- multiple claims including those involving international incidents and cross-border litigation following accidents overseas
- Inquests and public inquiries
- Complex medical issues and the setting up and overseeing of care regimes.
Steve is accredited as a Senior Litigator with APIL* and a member of AvMA*, the Bristol Medico-Legal
Society, a member of Headway - The Brain Injury Association Personal Injury Solicitors List, and
the SRA* Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Panels, as well as a Deputy appointed by the
Court of Protection (formerly known as a Receiver), an accredited mediator, and a Deputy District Judge
of the Tribunals Judiciary. He is Treasurer of and legal advisor to RoadPeace's Bristol/South West group.
