Richard joined Metcalfes in December 2011 as a Solicitor in the Claimant Personal Injury Department.

Richard read Law at UWE Bristol before graduating with honours in 1998 and has around 10 years' experience in working in the field of personal injury. After successfully completing his ILEX qualifications in 2007 and Legal Practice Course in 2010, both with a Distinction overall, Richard qualified as a Solicitor in December 2010.

Richard's particular areas of interests and experience include: -

  • Accidents at work, including claims against well-known national and international companies which have resulted in changes of work practice.
  • Public liability claims, such as claims against the local authority and landowners.
  • Sports injuries, including golfing accidents and accidents while participating in extreme sports.
  • Injuries caused by defective products, including food poisoning claims against major retailers and pub/restaurant chains.
  • Claims under the Animals Act 1971, including serious dog bite injuries and equine cases.
  • Road traffic accident cases.

Richard has acted for claimants with serious internal injuries, including damage to reproductive organs, neurological injuries, complex and serious fractures, including spinal, hip, leg and shoulder fractures, and purely psychological injuries.

Richard is a member of APIL.
