Fiona qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 (after previously qualifying as a Legal
Executive) and has a wide range of experience in all types of injury claims,
including cases involving hairdressing negligence, road traffic cases, occupiers'
liability claims, product liability claims and a particular interest in accidents
at work. An interesting aspect of her work includes go karting and quad biking injuries.
Fiona returned to Metcalfes in 2009, having previously started her legal career
with the firm some years ago.
Fiona has undertaken personal injury work for the past 16 years, representing
both Claimants and Defendants during that time. More recently, her work has
been exclusively Claimant, focusing on the needs of injured people.
Fiona is committed to providing the highest level of service to her clients, and
providing clear advice in plain English, as well as aiming to reduce the stress
and complexity of the legal process for those whom she represents.
She has developed a reputation as a strong litigator and negotiator, who will
fight her client's corner, but also take a pragmatic view of the case. Having
worked on the Defendant side in addition over the years allows her to take a
focused view on the potential strengths and weaknesses of each case.
In addition, Fiona has received very positive client feedback and recommendations
from many of those whom she has represented.
Recent successes:
- Obtaining just under £100,000 for a client suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, following a workplace accident.
- Obtaining approximately £90,000 for a client who suffered a wrist injury in a workplace accident.
- Obtaining £110,000 for a multiple injury case where the Claimant was knocked from his bicycle in a road traffic accident.
